Preparing for Your MSG Service Appointment (FAQ)
Thank you for choosing Minimalist Service Group, Inc. (MSG).
Our goal is to provide every client with a professional, organized, and worry-free experience. To help ensure a safe and efficient project, we ask that you review the following preparation guidelines before your scheduled appointment. Every MSG Specialist undergoes professional training through MSG Academy™ and follows our strict standards for: confidentiality, property protection, customer privacy, damage prevention, safety procedures, and professional conduct.
We treat every home with the same care and respect we would expect in our own.
Valuables & Personal Property For your protection and peace of mind, MSG strongly recommends that you secure or remove any high-value or irreplaceable personal property before our team arrives. This includes, but is not limited to:
Cash, Jewelry, Watches, Firearms, Prescription medications, Credit cards, Checkbooks, Passports, Social Security cards, Birth certificates, Legal documents, Financial records, Family heirlooms, Collectibles, Coins, Precious metals, Investment documents, Personal electronics not related to the project, etc.
Whenever possible, these items should be:
Locked in a safe
Secured in a locked room that is not part of the project
Removed from the property before services begin
MSG will not open safes, locked cabinets, or other secured storage areas unless specifically authorized in writing by the customer.
Customer Responsibility & Limitation of Responsibility Customers are responsible for identifying any areas that should not be accessed during the project. Please notify your MSG Specialit of:
Locked rooms
Private offices
Gun safes
Jewelry cabinets
Medication storage
Sensitive business files
Family keepsakes
Areas containing confidential information
While MSG exercises the highest level of care and professionalism, customers are responsible for securing valuable, sentimental, confidential, and irreplaceable items before services begin.
MSG shall not be responsible for the loss of unsecured cash, jewelry, collectibles, personal documents, or other valuables that were not properly secured or identified before the project.
Nothing in this statement limits any rights or obligations that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Pets, Animals, Children & Occupants For the safety of your pets, our team, and your belongings, we request that all pets be secured before our arrival. This includes: Dogs, Cats, Birds, Reptiles, Rabbits, Ferrets, Livestock, and any other household pets. MSG reserves the right to temporarily suspend work if an animal presents a safety concern.
Pets should be:
Placed in a separate room.
Crated if appropriate.
Kept outside the active work area.
Supervised by another adult whenever possible.
We also ask that young children remain supervised while our team is working. This helps ensure:
Child safety
Efficient project completion
Protection of customer belongings
Safe movement of equipment
Firearms, Alarm Systems, Parking, Utilities & SafetyAll firearms should be: Unloaded, Secured, and Locked in a safe or approved storage device.
MSG personnel are not authorized to handle firearms.
If applicable, please provide instructions regarding: Alarm systems, Entry procedures, Gate codes, Garage access, Smart home systems, etc.
Please reserve adequate parking for MSG service vehicles whenever possible.
Please ensure that:
Electricity is available
Running water is available
HVAC systems are operational
MSG reserves the right to suspend or postpone services if unsafe conditions exist, including but not limited to:
Aggressive animals
Hazardous materials
Unsafe structures
Severe hoarding conditions beyond the agreed scope
Biohazards
Illegal substances or activities
Threatening or abusive behavior
Existing Damage & Project Approval Please identify any existing:
Scratches
Broken furniture
Loose flooring
Damaged walls
Fragile items
Our MSG Specialist will document any pre-existing conditions before work begins.
Before our team leaves, your MSG Specialist will also conduct a final wal-kthrough with you to:
Review completed work
Demonstrate organization systems
Answer questions
Obtain your approval
Complete project documentation
Donations, Resale & Disposal As we work together through your space, we'll help you thoughtfully sort and categorize your belongings based on your goals and preferences. To ensure every item is handled exactly as you intend, please clearly identify which items are designated for:
Donation: Items you would like to give to a charitable organization.
Resale: Items you wish to sell or consign.
Recycling: Items that can be responsibly recycled.
Disposal: Items you no longer need and would like discarded.
Family Members: Items you would like to set aside for loved ones.
Storage: Items you wish to keep but store for future use.
Throughout the entire process, you remain in complete control of every decision. We will guide you through each category, answer any questions, and ensure you feel confident before moving forward. Nothing will be donated, sold, recycled, discarded, or removed from your home without your review and explicit approval. Our goal is to make the process seamless, stress-free, and tailored to your needs while respecting both your belongings and your peace of mind.
